Abstract

Through the National Task Force, the Indonesian government has detailed four levels of regional zoning criteria as indicators of the Covid-19 risk category based on the level of spread. The red zone (high risk) of Covid-19 is an area that the public must be aware of because of the uncontrolled spread of the virus, and the outbreak is spreading widely. Through information on the risk zoning map for the reach of Covid-19 provided by the government, the public can find out which areas are prone to Covid-19 through news media, websites, or applications.

Location-based service technology (LBS) can support the mapping of risk areas according to zoning criteria. The LBS system can use data on the Covid-19 distribution area to create a virtual barrier (geofence) by utilizing mobile phones' Global Positioning System (GPS). When the GPS detects the current location past the virtual limit, the system will give a warning in a notification to the user.
